This page answers the questions people most often ask about their privacy on ChairSlot HQ. It covers the website at chairslothq.noticias041.com and nothing else.
Who runs this site?
ChairSlot HQ is an independent publication about appointment booking software for small service businesses, operated from the United States. There is no company behind it that you need to worry about selling your details on; there is an editorial team, an advertising setup and a hosting provider, all described below.
What do you collect when I just read an article?
Very little that identifies you personally. Like virtually every website, our server and our analytics tool record technical details of each visit: your IP address, the type of browser and device you use, the page you asked for, the page that sent you here, and the time. We use that to see which articles are useful, to keep the site running, and to spot abuse.
What if I contact you?
Then we also have what you typed into the contact form: usually a name, an email address and your message. We use it to answer you, keep a record of the exchange, and, if you asked for a correction, to check and publish it. We do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.
Why do I see advertising, and who is behind it?
Advertising pays for the site. Ads are served by third-party networks, principally Google. Those companies may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your earlier visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies, such as the DoubleClick DART cookie, lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
You are not stuck with personalised ads. You can switch them off at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of many other participating vendors at aboutads.info and the Network Advertising Initiative. For more detail, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Do you sell my information?
We do not sell personal information for money and we do not hand your contact details to marketers. Advertising partners collect their own data through cookies, which is why the controls above matter.
What rights do I have?
- Everyone: you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
- California residents: you also have the rights described in the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, including the right to know, delete, correct, and to opt out of the sharing of personal information for advertising. We will not treat you worse for using them.
- People in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom: you may additionally object to or restrict processing, ask for a portable copy of your data, withdraw consent at any time, and complain to your local data protection authority.
To use any of these rights, send a request through the contact form and tell us which right you want to use. We may need to confirm that the request really comes from you.
How long do you keep things, and how is it protected?
Messages sent through the contact form are normally kept for up to two years. Server and analytics records are kept for shorter, rolling periods. The site is served over HTTPS and access to our systems is restricted, but no system is perfectly secure and we cannot promise otherwise.
Is the site for children?
No. It is written for adults and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you think a child has sent us something, tell us through the contact form and we will delete it.
Will this page change?
Yes, occasionally. When it does we change the date at the top. Carrying on using the site after a change means you accept the new version.
